DHL SERVICEPOINT retail outlet branches out to East Malaysia

DHL, the world's leading express and logistics company, has recently opened its first DHL SERVICEPOINT outlet in East Malaysia, located in Miri, Sarawak. The DHL SERVICEPOINT outlet is designed for walk-in retail customers, as well as for account-based customers who now have the option to drop-off their shipments.
Available in the latest retail outlet are the DHL SERVICEPOINT core product offerings, which include the recently launched DHL2Home, a convenient and reliable solution for customers sending important items and personal essentials when they are relocating or returning to their home country. Other products and services include Express4U (E4U), an easy-to-use and convenient service for sending documents and parcels worldwide with flat-rate prices, and Tourist Express, a hassle-free and affordable option for tourists to ship items purchased during their visit to Malaysia back to their home country. In addition, DHL SERVICEPOINT also offers Express Pallet (EP), a packaging and transport solution designed to match real-time distribution systems with an all-inclusive pricing.
In conjunction with the nation's 50th anniversary, walk-in customers will also receive a gift? for every shipment lodged until 31 December 2007.
Launched in 2005 with the opening of Malaysia's first DHL SERVICEPOINT in Menara Axis, this innovative retail strategy has achieved huge success and enthusiastic response from customers. DHL SERVICEPOINT is a direct response to market evaluation studies, which revealed that customers seek wide choices in services, especially the flexibility to ship items at their own convenience. With this in mind, the DHL SERVICEPOINT outlets are designed with the key attributes of accessibility, convenience and user-friendly features. The 365 square feet outlet in Miri is the latest example of this model.
Sam Leong, Country Manager for DHL Express Malaysia and Brunei, said, ?DHL SERVICEPOINT outlets are all strategically located in high-traffic areas, making them easily accessible to walk-in customers. The latest addition in Miri ? the first DHL SERVICEPOINT retail outlet in East Malaysia -- makes it convenient and flexible for many customers in this bustling town area, renowned for its petroleum and tourism industry, to meet their shipping requirements. Having set up operations in Miri since 1988, the DHL SERVICEPOINT expansion in East Malaysia is timely as it reaches out to new customer segments, a significant part of DHL's innovative Retail Footprint?.
DHL also has plans to open several DHL SERVICEPOINT outlets over the next three years in key cities throughout Malaysia. The outlets will strengthen DHL's existing network and position it to further grow its customer base, particularly the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) whose success depend on their ability to expand regionally and globally.
The latest outlet on Jalan Merbau, Miri, adds to the seven DHL SERVICEPOINT outlets already operating in Menara TM, Menara Axis, Bangsar Baru, SS2 Petaling Jaya, Central Market, the DHL Klang Valley Service Centre in Glenmarie, as well as the recently opened retail outlet in Pulau Tikus, Penang.
The DHL SERVICEPOINT outlet in Miri operates from Mondays to Fridays between 8am and 5pm, and on Saturdays from 8am to 12pm. It is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
