DHL, the world's leading express and logistics company, has recently opened two new DHL SERVICEPOINT outlets. These unique retail outlets are located at SS2 in Petaling Jaya and Bangsar Baru in Kuala Lumpur.

Launched last year with the opening of Malaysia's first DHL SERVICEPOINT in Menara Axis, this innovative retail strategy has been a huge success and represents an additional RM1.5 million investment in its Malaysian infrastructure.

DHL SERVICEPOINT is a direct response to market evaluation studies conducted earlier by DHL. These studies revealed that customers seek wide choices in services, especially the flexibility to ship items at their own convenience. Designed with the key attributes of accessibility, convenience and user-friendly features, DHL SERVICEPOINT is a direct response to this consumer need.

Sam Leong, Country Manager for DHL Express Malaysia, said, "Since we launched the first DHL SERVICEPOINT outlet last year, we have received a favourable response from individuals and small business owners alike, who continue to take advantage of the convenience offered at DHL SERVICEPOINT such as all-inclusive pricing." Leong pointed out that a retail customer sending a 10kg package to US only needs to pay 1 price; in this case, MYR275.00 for the shipping cost. The customer is not levied additional charges for fuel surcharge or a security surcharge and the packaging is provided free of charge.

DHL SERVICEPOINT offers other benefits such as pro-active delivery notification, where DHL automatically informs customers when a shipment is delivered. This adds value to DHL's global visibility of shipments through its advanced IT network.

DHL has plans to open another eight SERVICEPOINT outlets over the next three years in key cities throughout Malaysia. The outlets will strengthen DHL's existing network and position it to further grow its customer base, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Mr. Leong pointed out that SMEs operate in a very competitive environment, where success may depend on a company?s ability to expand regionally. The PJ and Bangsar outlets add to a growing network of the retail outlets in Asia Pacific, following the opening of similar outlets in Mumbai, India, Seoul, Korea, and Manila, Philippines. DHL Malaysia's three DHL SERVICEPOINT outlets are located in Petaling Jaya, on the ground floor of Menara Axis and the SS2 business square, as well as in Bangsar Baru along Jalan Telawi.
